The Rustic Cottage Sideboard is an homage to the look of reclaimed furniture. Made entirely of rough cut pine, it has an authentic rustic appearance. The cabinet is offered as a stain only option due to the rough surface of the material used. Stains provide better coverage and are more in keeping with the simple style of the sideboard.
This sideboard has three doors with a flat face design. The doors are a flat plank style with wood knobs. The doors are closed via a push catch latch. The base molding is flat to the ground. There is one shelf behind the three doors, it is centered in the opening and spans the width of the cabinet.
Our sideboard is water-sealed to stand-up to daily use, and can be used for food and drink service. The cabinet is handcrafted and hand-finished in your stain of choice. Due to the woods rough surface, we prefer to only stain this piece as coverage is difficult with paint.
This reclaimed sideboard style of cabinet can be used for general everyday storage, as a flat screen tv console, in a game room, or as a relaxed cottage or lakehouse sideboard.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer (3) styles of tops on all of our furniture: Stained Pine, Hand Planed, and Birch. Below are approximate examples of each wood style, along with an explanation of the characteristics of each. All tops are finished with two coats of varnish and a wax top sealer. The cleaning of the surface is an easy soap and water maintenance, there is no special routine required, this is an easy-care system.
"Stained Pine" is our standard solid wood top featured on all furniture pieces.
"Hand Planed" is a solid pine top which has a planed down surface to open the grain of the wood to allow a deeper stain color. This technique provides an uneven, grooved surface for a more rustic look.
"Birch" is a hardwood top that has less wood grain and no knots when compared to Pine. Birch is a popular choice for customers looking for a harder top for children or heavy wear.
