The Country French Ladderback Chair is a hallmark of country French interiors in the regions of Provence, Normandy, and Bordeaux. Today, our ladderback chair balances solid wood construction with a French-inspired style for your dining room.
The chair offers a comfortably contoured/scalloped ladder back paired with a wood seat or rush seat. The country French ladderback chair has an ample 20" wide seat for comfortable seating. The back slightly slopes and gently contours for comfort and back support. The three scrolled ladder slat backs enhance the chair's country French design.
The Ladderback is made of solid hardwood—to stand up to daily use—and meant to last a lifetime. This is one of our "best seller" chairs for its French design, comfort, and enduring style.
This Country French Ladderback Chair is available with your choice of a molded "Wood" seat, or with a Plywood seat that can be upholstered. The chair can be finished in a two-tone paint/stain combination (chair back/seat), or an all over paint or stain.
This Country French Ladderback Chair complements French Country, English Cottage, Farmhouse, Rustic, Transitional and Traditional style decors.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer a contoured wood seat on our Country French Ladderback Dining Chair. The wood seat is a hardwood seat (Ash) that can be painted or stained. The seat is strong and durable and is a comfortable molded seat design.
We also have an available option of a Plywood seat. The Plywood seat can be removed and upholstered after-market.
