The X Back stool features a distinctive cross back design that originates from bentwood chairs of the 19th century. Made popular for its classic French bistro design and enduring durability, the X Back Chair has become a popular choice for everyday use in kitchens and bars.
This solid hardwood, French-inspired cross back stool has a sloped back and molded seat for leisurely seating during drinks and meals. The slightly sloped back adds comfort and lower back support while sitting. The contoured solid wood molded seat is a comfortable 18" wide.
Each X Back Chair is hand-finished in any of our milk paint colors or stains for classic country French style. All of our finishes are hand-applied giving each chair a handcrafted quality. The stool can be finished in two-tone (stained seat and paint back) or all-over one color.
The X back Stool is available in 24"h counter height and 30" bar height. The X Back Stool has tapered legs and simple embellishments making it a classic chair to add to a variety kitchen and bar styles including French Country, Farmhouse, English Cottage, Rustic, Traditional, or Transitional.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
