The French Country Ladderback Stool adds grace—and timeless beauty to any bar or kitchen area. The Ladderback stool is named for the horizontal slats across the back of the stool, resembling the rungs of a ladder. Often referred to as a "slat-back" chair, the back provides tall, upright support. Our Ladderback Stool has one elegantly scalloped slat, and two flat slats adding french-style to the ladderback family.
Constructed of solid hardwood, each stool is made with the highest-quality craftmanship. The ladderback bar and kitchen stool are maple and ash—making them lightweight and inherently strong— unlike mass-manufactered stools which contain composition or particle woods.
The upright stool complements beautifully with any traditional, transitional, farmhouse or country kitchen. With proper care, ladderbacks are intended to last a lifetime.
The European Ladderback Stool offers (4) durable seat styles. Available in your choice of; a molded "Wood" seat, hand-strung "Woven Seagrass" (rush) seat, "Snowshoe" (rawhide) seat, or "V-weave Seagrass" (rush) seat. Each seat style has a one-of-a-kind feel depending on your seat and paint/stain selections.
The ladderback stool can be finished in a two-tone combination of paint and stain (back/seat) entirely stained, or entirely painted with a wood seat selection.
This Country French Ladderback Stool complements French Country, English Cottage, American Farmhouse, Rustic, Transitional and Traditional style decors.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer (4) seat styles on our French Country Ladderback Dining Chair: Wood, Snowshoe, Woven Seagrass, and V-weave Seagrass.
All styles are strong and durable.
The "Wood" seat is a hardwood seat that can be painted or stained.
The "Snowshoe" seat is made of beeswax and leather.
The "Woven Seagrass" is made of a natural fiber material that is hand strung.
The "V-Weave Seagrass" is made of a natural fiber material that is hand strung.
