Family and guests alike will enjoy gathering around the kitchen island for a quick nosh or extended meal. The front features an 8" overhang for comfortable legroom for kitchen stool seating. The French country island features either; two, three or four inset face panels with diagonal tongue and groove "shiplap" boards depending on the length ordered.
The kitchen island offers lower open storage shelving for large pots and appliances with one centered shelf. The horizontal drawers provide essential storage for utensils, silverware, and small appliances and dish towels.
The top is supported by decorative scrolled corbels. The 1 1/8-inch thick top is made of solid wood, and is water-sealed and waxed to stand-up to daily use. Simple soap and water clean-up. Available in standard lengths of 52" (2-panels/drawers), 76" (3 panels/drawers), 100" (4 panels/drawers).
The French country Kitchen Island with Horizontal Drawers is standardly painted in a classic two-tone French country finish (stained top and painted base). But, can be finished in one all-over stain or paint.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer (3) styles of tops on all of our furniture: Stained Pine, Hand Planed, and Birch. Below are approximate examples of each wood style, along with an explanation of the characteristics of each. All tops are finished with two coats of varnish and a wax top sealer. The cleaning of the surface is an easy soap and water maintenance, there is no special routine required, this is an easy-care system.
"Stained Pine" is our standard solid wood top featured on all furniture pieces.
"Hand Planed" is a solid pine top which has a planed down surface to open the grain of the wood to allow a deeper stain color. This technique provides an uneven, grooved surface for a more rustic look.
"Birch" is a hardwood top that has less wood grain and no knots when compared to Pine. Birch is a popular choice for customers looking for a harder top for children or heavy wear.
