The Provincial Trestle Table is a stylish choice as the main dining table for your french country home. This trestle table comes with (2) 16" extensions that slide into the ends of the table via wood prongs attached to the underside of the extension, there is a notch cut on the table skirt to receive them. The extensions store separately from the table, they are not self-storing.
The table is made of solid wood: no pressboard, mdf, or veneers are used. The table base has two substantial pedestal bases, carved from maple, with a stretcher bar attachment spanning the length. The trestle bases are anchored by two contoured feet for stability and add another stylish detail to the table design. The standard table top is made from pine with an attached short apron skirt.
The Provincial Trestle Table is intended for daily use. Every top is water-sealed and waxed to prevent water rings and perfect for everyday use. All tops are an easy care soap and water clean-up, no need to worry about upkeep and maintenance.
The trestle table top is made from 1 1/4" eastern white pine. You can opt for a Birch top (birch top would be 1 1/8" thick). If you prefer a more rugged top, you can choose a Hand Planed style, Hand Planed is a pine top.
The French Country Provincial Trestle Table can be finished in any of our milk paint or stain finishes for an elegant traditional, cottage or rustic style.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer (3) styles of tops on all of our furniture: Stained Pine, Hand Planed, and Birch. Below are approximate examples of each wood style, along with an explanation of the characteristics of each. All tops are finished with two coats of varnish and a wax top sealer. The cleaning of the surface is an easy soap and water maintenance, there is no special routine required, this is an easy-care system.
"Stained Pine" is our standard solid wood top featured on all furniture pieces.
"Hand Planed" is a solid pine top which has a planed down surface to open the grain of the wood to allow a deeper stain color. This technique provides an uneven, grooved surface for a more rustic look.
"Birch" is a hardwood top that has less wood grain and no knots when compared to Pine. Birch is a popular choice for customers looking for a harder top for children or heavy wear.
