Everyone loves the charm of a European Sleigh Bench. Often referred to as a pew bench for it's upright, yet, slightly sloped back, the bench has comfortably contoured arms and underseat storage making it most utilized piece of furniture in the home.
The petite, narrow bench is ideal in a mudroom, hallway, kid's room or any space needing a bench with storage. Perfect size underseat storage for blankets, toys, or even shoes and boots. The 21" narrow depth gives it functional bench seating at a farm table. The 44" length is an ideal bench with a back at a small dining table. The bench has graduated curved arms, a sloping back, and a hinged seat that lifts open to a storage compartment beneath it. Classic country bench is designed for use as table seating or task seating. A perfect size bench for a bedroom, entrance or kitchen corner.
The Sleigh Storage Bench are standardly painted in a classic two-tone French country finish (painted back and stained seat). But, the bench can be finished in one all-over stain or paint finish.

All of the finishes that we offer on our furniture are uniquely French Country. We offer traditional milk paint finishes and stains with low VOC that is healthy for you and the environment. Our finishes are hand applied, then lightly rubbed, for time worn character (we can also finish without paint distressing!). Our finishers lightly surface distress tops for a time worn appearance. All finishes are water sealed and waxed for easy care, everyday use.
We offer (3) styles of tops on all of our furniture: Stained Pine, Hand Planed, and Birch. Below are approximate examples of each wood style, along with an explanation of the characteristics of each. All tops are finished with two coats of varnish and a wax top sealer. The cleaning of the surface is an easy soap and water maintenance, there is no special routine required, this is an easy-care system.
"Stained Pine" is our standard solid wood top featured on all furniture pieces.
"Hand Planed" is a solid pine top which has a planed down surface to open the grain of the wood to allow a deeper stain color. This technique provides an uneven, grooved surface for a more rustic look.
"Birch" is a hardwood top that has less wood grain and no knots when compared to Pine. Birch is a popular choice for customers looking for a harder top for children or heavy wear.
